I have used Europcar many times at the airport however, this was the first time renting a car in the city in Melbourne. There were no-one at the desk when I walked in. One of the staff member, namely Nucci, saw us waiting yet, he thought he would finish his conversation with a fellow staff member in a room behind the counter. He walked towards us, without an apology for making us wait 5 minutes. That was strike number 1.He was very slow. I was there for 40 minutes while he went back and forth typing with one finger. Strike number 2.I have rented cars with Europcars before so staff members always informs me of the basic road rules in Melbourne as it is very different to Sydney. He did not go through any of the rules especially the left lane turn right rule. Strike number 3. Once again, he did not follow protocol by directing us to the car and going through the damages already there. He just gave me the key and said there are no damages. I doubled checked just to cover myself and of course I saw plenty of scratches around the car. I went back inside and told him that there are visible damages. This is when he took pictures and gave me the all clear. If this was my first time renting a car, I would have not known how to drive around Melbourne as he did not go through any of the road rules very specific to Melbourne. In sum, Nucci was very unpleasant, unprofessional and impolite. I will not go back to Europcar Melbourne City knowing the low standard of staffing. I encourage anyone who's interested in renting a car with Europcar to go to the ones in Melbourne Tullamarine or Avalon airport.

No fuss in collection and return. Had prebooked earlier along with insurance and counter staff was kind to give an upgrade! Made our holiday even better :DJust do your due dilligence in checking the car prior to collecting and be sure to return in good condition and full tank.
Overall my experience with them was alright. Staff who attended to us was pretty courteous and he was kind enough to allocate us another model in an almost new condition from our original booking. But the wait was a bit long as the place was heavily understaffed (there was only 1 staff with 3 teams waiting when we stepped in) and they did not have the GPS navigation in stock although we specified it in our booking. Other than that the car was nice and smooth and drop off was hassle free.
