One of the city loop stations on the Melbourne metroParliament station is named after the Victorian State Parliament House which is just steps away from the station entrance.The station has lifts and escalators and will connect you with all train lines - either directly or via the city loop.The area around the station includes the Princess Theatre, "Paris End" of Collins Street, Treasury Gardens, direct tram connections down Bourke St and Collins Street.You can buy or recharge Myki cards (melbourne public transport tickets) here at machines or at the staffed ticket office.Very busy station during weekday peak commute and also on Friday and Saturday evenings when people are coming in to the city for entertainment.

New station policy to remove scheduled trains from foyer screens when 1 min from arrival. Safe - maybe; Annoying - definitely.
Gets you around just fine. Need to be aware of the bewitching change of directions times though.
Yeah. The escalators. Great fun, *but* if you have even a touch of vertigo, consider taking a (free) city tram down Bourke St to Southern Cross Station. The ride down to the platform, particularly in non-peak hours when you can see *all the way* down, is not for the nervous or unsteady. :)
