The school principal is a racist! She discriminated against my son by assuming he didn't have basic English because of his "ethnic" name. Had she spent the time and looked through the report sent from his Kinder, she would have realised he was born and raised in Melbourne and had been in full time care at The University of Melbourne Childcare Centre since he was 10 months old. His English was as good as any other "Anglo" child of his age at the time. When I raised the issue with the principal, she had the audacity to pretend to know what it felt like to be discriminated against by saying "I have a funny European surname too. I just got married." Lady, for your sake and possibly your children's sake, I truly hope none of you will ever have to experience any discrimination just because of your names! As for the receptionist, she's the worse receptionist I've ever came across. She's just beyond rude! I guess, with a racist boss, it shouldn't a surprise that the receptionist has such a foul attitude as well. There's a bad culture at this school and it stems from right at the top!I wanted to report this incident to the Board of Education and possibly Australian Human Rights Commission but decided not to as I didn't want to traumatise my son. Instead, I pulled my son out of this school and enrolled him in Holy Rosary in Kensington. It's a very good school with such a big community spirit! It was a blessing for my son in the end.
My four children love it at NMPS, great teachers & facilities and the most personable principals - Sally & Sarah - that we've had from our past four schools.
i have looked in to this school it is amazing teachers are very kind and u can make a friendly friend very quick this school also has lots of pentintuel ifn it was up to me i would give this school 10/10 stars! i hope i can go there someday!
Great teachers and a good school however some teachers can definitely improve.
I dont have less than 1 star... Yes its true... We parents call school to enquire and request the information.. the front of house staff are not greatly polite and the actual departmental specialists are very very very rude... If the staff are so.. how children will learn good ethics and morals?
