Spent close to two hours in the Love exhibit. It is amazing! So well done and touching, and showcases a wide variety of people and relationships. I rarely participate in audio tours, but I really enjoyed this one, both for the music and the spoken stories.
I wish I had left a bit more time to visit here! All of the exhibits are really beautifully put together so it's a pleasure to spend a couple of hours wandering through. The love exhibit was awesome, I found it really moving and cried about four times. The mix of audio and visual was great and there's something about wearing headphones that makes you feel like you're the only person in the room.
Really great exhibit on "love". Rest of the museum was also very interesting. Good to see they didn't try to gloss over Australia's complicated history with immigration (anti-Chinese policies, dictation tests, etc.). Really interesting and a fairly inexpensive way to spend a morning or afternoon.
Super detailed and interesting historical description of Australia's migrant past. I highly appreciated the discussion it prompted about identity and what it means to be someone in a globalizing world. A must visit for those interested in expanding their social horizons.
Good place for historians interested in life of people with immigration background. Nothing much spectacular like other museums in Melbourne. Definitely not enjoyable for kids younger than high school. Enthusiastic readers can really find great deals about human emotions and reason why people migrate and how Australia culture was built up. It definitely a must visit for people with reading habits and don't mind too much academy.
