Very pleasant experience here. Was served by some American girl who was hilarious and really knew her stuff about the beer. I got the pie which was quite good. Its a great place to catch some cricket and a beer. Cheers
Was my first time visiting Melbourne CBD area. I was served by an American girl, she was excellent, had really good knowledge about the beer. The pie of the day was the best pie I've ever had. Friendly barstaff really make a difference. Will be coming back next time I'm in Melbourne
As far as a themed pub/bar is concerned, it does its minimum job. There are some usual quenchers and some appropriately named after things from Sherlock Holmes, such as The Speckled Hen, not band. The most interesting thing about this place is of course its menu. To be more precise, the names of dishes are clearly unique in Melbourne and inspired from, you guessed it, Sherlock Holmes. It would, however, benefit from a little change in the decor and make it feel more like Holmes' era of 1800s with some dim lighting.
Nice English pub. Food was not bad. The portion was substantial enough for me and my friends. I liked the Hobgoblin ale, which they had on tap. The staff was busy but was helpful enough to me.
Great parmas - a few different varieties to choose from. They use real chicken and all come with chips and salad. Great atmosphere downstairs in the bar and family friendly restaurant section. Used to go to this place years and years ago and all this time later it didn't disappoint!
